Job summary

BluePearl Veterinary Partner is hiring an ICU Veterinary Technician for Skyline Veterinary Specialists & Emergency in the Northern Kentucky region. This day-time position offers a challenging, fast-paced environment where you will work alongside experienced veterinary professionals to provide critical care.

Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $40.50 per hour, with advancement through our competency leveling system.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases on arrival and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges and alert the Veterinarian to changes.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications as prescribed.
• Phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Show patience and empathy to address client concerns.
