Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Intensive Care Unit travel nurse to work in Fort Wayne, IN. The role involves 12‑hour evening shifts, 36 hours per week, and a 13‑week assignment with travel duties.

The ICU RN will perform direct patient care, monitor patients, document findings, and educate families. Candidates should have ACLS/BLS and 1–2 years of acute care experience, with other certifications potentially required before starting an assignment.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required for ICU travel assignments.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience preferred for ICU travel roles.
• ICU travel nurse responsibilities include monitoring, documentation and family communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care in ICU settings.
• Administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement of catheters, leads and tubing.
• Communicate patient conditions to family members.
