Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for the ICU on a PRN basis. The RN will provide nursing care for acutely ill patients, perform plan of care interventions, monitor patient status, and collaborate with the care team.

A valid Iowa RN license and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS and telemetry experience are preferred. Eligible candidates enjoy comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license (single-state or compact) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
