Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU on a PRN basis.

The RN will assess patients, participate in care planning, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and support patients and families during critical moments. Requirements include active Oklahoma RN license, ADN required (BSN preferred), BLS, ACLS within 3 months, PALS and SECURE within 6 months, and NIH Stroke Scale certification within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure from the State of Oklahoma.
• ADN is required; BSN is preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required within 3 months of employment.
• PALS and SECURE required within 6 months of employment.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 3 months of employment.
• Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The RN has multiple roles and functions including caregiver, decision‑maker, client advocate, manager, rehabilitator, comforter, communicator, and teacher.
• The functions include assessment of the nursing needs of the patient, initiation of the plan of care of nurse action, implementation of the plan of care and the evaluation of the process, by use of the nursing process.
• The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.
• The RN promotes the dignity and quality of the nursing care given to the patient.
