Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ICU nights shift in College Station, Texas. The ICU cares for critically ill medical, surgical, and cardiac patients in a 16-bed unit, with patient ratios typically 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while following Texas Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies. The role requires BLS and an RN license, with nights 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and self-scheduling options available.

Qualifications

• Current RN license required.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, patient safety practices, and medication administration.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize care and respond effectively in a fast paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and prioritize needs of critically ill patients and families.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and respond to emergencies.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and provide interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and ongoing care needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support positive outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and guide other healthcare team members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow nursing standards and privacy requirements.
