Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit. The ICU cares for critically ill patients with a 20-bed unit and 1:1 to 1:3 ratios, with 24/7 physician coverage and rounds.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care through the nursing process, maintaining care standards, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. A BSN/MSN is preferred, active RN license, and BLS within 90 days. Eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• Minimum of 1 year emergency, intermediate care, intensive care experience

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Follow ICU standards of practice and participate in care coordination.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory, physical, speech and occupational therapists.
• Participate in physician-led rounds and continuous education for patient safety.
