Merit Health Central in Jackson, MS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care across the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and adherence to clinical protocols.

The RN will administer medications, monitor patient status, educate patients and families, and participate in emergency responses and team-based care on a night shift.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure required in state or compact state.
• Basic life support (BCLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies, protocols, and the nursing process.
• Documents patient care and education thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions as appropriate.
• Engages in performance improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient outcomes.
