Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join the night shift team in Maysville, Kentucky. This full-time role is part of Lifepoint Health and offers a sign-on bonus for qualified individuals.

The ICU unit is a 6-bed specialty area providing direct care to critically ill adults. The RN will perform plans of care, monitor patients, document care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license required (single state or compact).
• BLS certification within one month of hire.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• PALS certification within six months of hire.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care tasks.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family; provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Able to manage ventilators, cpap/bipap, and vapotherms.
• Able to titrate and maintain critical drips with understanding of indications, contraindications, and side effects.
• Must pass a rhythm recognition test within 90 days of hire/transfer.
