Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse License
• ADN or BSN as required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (maintain current)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (maintain current)
• Effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people at all levels
• Possess active listening skills
• Compassionate and non judgmental caregiver and advocate
• Able to independently manage multiple priorities
• Must comply with Respiratory Fit Testing Protection Policy
• Must complete EKG test within 30 days of entry
• NIHSS within 30 days of entry

Responsibilities

• Obtains information and interprets information in terms of the patient’s needs
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development
• Independently cares for two critically ill patients
• Assesses and recognizes change in condition and notifies the physician appropriately; reports to physician accurately and concisely; documents reassessments
• Provides head to toe critical assessment and reports with clinical reasoning; documents treatment and medications
• Manages multiple drips and sedation and patient on ventilators with understanding of alarms and parameters
• Initiates interdisciplinary communications and incorporates recommendations
• Ensures compliance with departmental policies and maintains continuing education per year
