Job summary

Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on the night shift. This full-time role covers 36 hours weekly, 7pm–7:30am, with rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered for external candidates under a retention agreement.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and documentation, with potential duties as Charge Nurse. Requires WA RN license and BLS; ACLS, PALS, TNCC, PEARS expected within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN Licensure.
• Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred. Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.
• Ability to perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.
• HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS within 30 days of hire – AHA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner per procedures and care plans.
• Identifies patient learning needs and delivers education per policy and care plans.
• Documents in patient charts per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates awareness of patient and family rights and respects diversity.
• Delegates patient care activities and supervises assigned coworkers.
• Maintains organization and prioritization with sound critical thinking.
• May function as Charge Nurse to coordinate admits, discharges, transfers and staff coverage.
• Maintains professional growth through seminars and affiliations.
