Job summary

Vail Health, a premier mountain healthcare system in Colorado, seeks a full-time night-shift registered nurse. The role delivers compassionate, expert nursing care, coordinates with the care team, and supports patient and family needs.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available, with night differential paid. Expect responsibilities including managing patient flow, prioritizing care requests, and educating patients to promote wellness while adhering to safety and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• One year of critical care experience strongly preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or a valid compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required; CCRN preferred.
• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for hires after 07/01/2018.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
• Prioritize incoming patient requests for services.
• Deliver patient education to facilitate plan of care and informed choices.
• Delegate care appropriately per Colorado statute.
• Demonstrate competent assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking.
• Handle high telephone volume for medications, information and assistance.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, assist in procedures; follow safety guidelines.
• Coordinate patient care with health care team and departments.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide service using Relationship‑Based Care and advocate for patient preferences.
• Model Just Culture and organizational values.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain HIPAA compliance.
