Job summary

CJW Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Coronary Care ICU on a Full Time Day Shift. The RN will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team, following established nursing models to support excellent outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia RN license (or Multistate Compact) with 1 year of acute care experience; ICU experience is preferred. BLS is required, ACLS due within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or Multistate Compact license.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
• 1 year of critical care (ICU) nursing experience preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents care in the patient medical record promptly.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures.
• Educates patients and families about lifestyle changes and self-management post-discharge.
• Supports quality measures and process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan.
