St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital in Texas is seeking a Float/Flex RN to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across units.

You’ll perform assessments, implement care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing, active TX RN license, CPR certification within 14 days, and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • RN license TX upon hire with required experience (1+ year).
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Use the nursing process to provide cost-effective, quality patient care.
  • Collect social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from patients, families and health care team members.
  • Perform ongoing assessment, formulate nursing diagnoses and goals, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Document consistently in patient/unit records according to health system standards of care.
  • Provide teaching on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Discharge instructions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, ethics, and cost containment.
  • Participate in research activities and collaborate with Outcomes management and department.

  • Utilizes the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven, and patient focused manner. Collects pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members.
  • Performs as ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnosis and goals, plans appropriate interventions, and evaluates the outcome of the interventions.
  • Consistently documents in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care in order to meet legal and quality patient care requirements.
  • Provides appropriate teaching and information to patients and families including information on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions
  • Demonstrates commitment to the goals and values of the patient, Hospital, community and nursing profession through cost containment measures, maintaining confidentiality, appropriate ethical decision-making, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Uses interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population, Participates in research activities, identifies opportunities for research, and collaborates with the Outcomes managers and department.
