Job summary

StaffDNA is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for our ICU team. You will provide critical respiratory care to patients with severe breathing disorders, including initiating and managing mechanical ventilation and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

In this fast-paced ICU setting, you will assess patients, perform diagnostic tests, and educate families on respiratory care as patients transition out of the ICU.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
• Experience in ICU/critical care setting.
• Ability to manage mechanical ventilation and life-support systems.
• Excellent communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions in the ICU.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation and other life-support systems.
• Administer aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed.
• Perform arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing to evaluate lung performance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Respond to emergencies including code blue events to provide airway management and support.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments and progress.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use after ICU transition.
