Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a dynamic unit. You will apply evidence-based practices, lead quality initiatives, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

You will monitor patients, adjust plans, document thoroughly in the EHR, and participate in professional development while upholding ethical standards. Occasional cross-unit coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
• Board-certified or eligible per unit requirements may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and resolves conflicts to foster teamwork and appropriate delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required education and certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and respects interdisciplinary roles in integrated, unbiased patient care.
• Dele gation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply growth and development knowledge as per department standards.
