Qualifications

• IV certification required.
• Ability to recognize significant cardiac arrhythmia.
• Knowledge of myocardial infarction symptoms and complications.
• Understanding of needs of critically ill patients.
• Environment that minimizes noise and anxiety for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Apply nursing process to deliver goal-directed care.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervisors.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
• Perform nursing skills per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Communicate with physicians and departments to coordinate care.
• Respond to emergencies per established procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records of care.
• Provide clinical leadership and participate in orientation of new staff.
• Possibly assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
• Pursue ongoing professional development.
