Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including examination and treatment under an approved protocol.
• Utilize the nursing process to implement goal-directed care.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to supervisors.
• Educate patients and families regarding condition, discharge planning and follow-up.
• Perform nursing skills per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Communicate with physicians and departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies per established procedures.
• Maintain patient records accurately and legibly.
• Provide clinical leadership and participate in orientation of new staff.
• Assume resource nurse responsibilities when necessary.
• Pursue professional development and set personal goals.
