Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake seeks a Registered Nurse for the CCU/ICU to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the medical team and other providers, using established nursing models to support outcomes.

The role requires ACLS and BCLS within specified timelines, NIH Stroke Scale, an associate degree, and an active RN license; the nurse will educate patients and families, monitor conditions, and participate in ongoing quality improvement to sustain

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse license/certification required.
• Associate Degree in nursing or equivalent.
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches follow-up lifestyle modifications and prepares patients for self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Coordinates, evaluates, and delivers a holistic patient treatment plan with multidisciplinary teams.
