Job summary

UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, OH is seeking a patient care assistant to join the ICU team for the evenings shift (3-11:30pm). You will support the RN with basic patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, charting, and assisting with supplies. Onboarding and training of new team members, PHI safety, and ensuring smooth unit operations are included.

Qualifications

• Basic patient care tasks as delegated by RN.
• Ability to perform ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG when needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN.
• Compassionate in all interactions with patients, families, and peers.
• Follows evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote outcomes.
• Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on unit.
• Facilitates stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care.
• Assists with unit communication and facilitates unit operations.
• Acts as a key resource for onboarding and training new team members.
