Required is a High School Diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred. 36 hours per week with a night shift, non-exempt status, and routine exposure to hospital environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records the vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures. Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure and other monitoring).
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates with RN regarding nutrition issues and diet changes.
• Assists with administrative tasks to support department operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
