Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital--Suffolk in Patchogue, NY, seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support ICU coverage during daytime, part-time shifts. Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant.
• Current BLS & ACLS documentation.
• PALS
• NRP documentation.

Responsibilities

• Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant.
• Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination.
• Orders and interprets tests based on patient need.
• Documents care in chart in accordance with Hospital policy & procedure.
• Formulates diagnoses and treatment plan.
• Consults with physician when required.
• Reassesses patients.
• Orders, applies, removes, reapplies restraints.
• Provides emergency medical care including Code 64 management.
• Triages patients—ED only.
• Assists in surgery—OR credentialed only.
