Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Suffolk County seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for ICU coverage on a full-time night shift. The role supports the PA Service and delivers high-quality, cost-effective care to patients under physician supervision.

You will perform assessments, order and interpret tests, document care, and collaborate with the medical team across ED, OR, and inpatient units. Requires PA education, NCCPA certification, NYS license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by the ARC-PA; NCCPA certification; NYS PA license; BLS certification.
• Advanced Life Support certifications may be required based on privileges.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination.
• Orders and interprets tests and results.
• Documents care in the chart per hospital policy.
• Forms diagnoses and treatment plans; consults with physician as needed.
• Provides emergency medical care and triage in ED; participates in trauma assessment.
