As an ICU Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform radiography, interpret vitals, assist veterinarians, and mentor colleagues in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Clinical skills in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Ability to triage emergency cases and obtain vital signs.
• Proficiency with phlebotomy and IV access.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes.
• Place intravenous catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers; provide client empathy.
