Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and implement patient care for the assigned unit’s age population. The role emphasizes safe, efficient care aligned with unit standards and demonstrates respect for staff, physicians, patients, and families.

The RN will perform initial assessments, develop plans of care, re-assess patient progress, and participate in education and discharge planning, with a focus on timely interventions and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license.
• BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hire date. All other required certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records initial assessment and sets priorities by patient age and needs.
• Re-assesses patients systematically to identify progress and needs.
• Develops and implements a measurable plan of care within Nursing Standards of Care.
• Makes nursing decisions and adjusts the plan based on evaluations.
• Participates in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
• Documents timely interventions and evaluates the plan of care.
• Performs Point of Care testing procedures.
• Uses effective communication and delegates unit work to ensure completion of required care activities.
• Coordinates team assignments and follows up on delegated tasks.
• Promotes a positive work environment and professional conduct.
• Contributes to unit growth and collaborative efforts to meet organizational goals.
