Mcpherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for ICU Nights (Full Time).

This role directs patient care using critical care skills to determine nursing diagnoses, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes for optimum patient outcomes. The position requires an Associate degree in nursing (BSN preferred), Kansas RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC within 6 months, 6 months to 1 year Med/Surg experience, and 3–5 years ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Directs patient care using critical care skills to determine nursing diagnosis, planning and implementing interventions and evaluating outcome.
• Minimum: Associate degree in nursing (two-year program).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (BSN).
• Licensed in Kansas as a Registered Nurse in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process and hospital policies to deliver care.
• Follows CMS guidelines to meet indicators and improve outcomes.
• Administers narcotics and other medications following the 6 rights.
• Provides patient teaching and initiates discharge planning at admission.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians and other staff.
• Documents findings and actions for continuity of care.
