Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider for nights in the Virginia region.

The role involves ICU management of critically ill adults, collaboration with intensivists, and credentialed procedures such as arterial line placement and central venous catheter insertion. You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds, ensure timely documentation and billing, and contribute to quality initiatives and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Virginia Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• National certification as PA-C, ACNP, or AGACNP is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges for ICU procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in collaboration with intensivists.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.
• Respond to acute clinical deterioration and critical care emergencies.
• Document care accurately and complete billing documentation.
• Work with eICU and on-call physician team during evening shifts.
• Support efficient ICU patient flow and care coordination.
