Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a night-shift, full-time Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will support nurses with basic patient care and daily activities, monitor vital signs, and collect specimens for labs.

Training includes BLS inside two weeks and potential certification requirements. The role acts under nursing supervision, with a focus on patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Must have completed some high school education.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Preferred: Completion of High School PCT competencies.
• Preferred: Certification as a PCT or CNA.

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the nurse.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
