Job summary

Piedmont Macon is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Pulmonary Critical Care Nights team, providing direct care to critically ill adults in the hospital alongside physicians. You will perform advanced procedures under supervision, manage airway, arterial/central lines, and participate in rounds, with emphasis on evidence-based care and patient education.

Applicants must hold Georgia APRN or PA license, ACLS, and be prepared for a night-shift schedule; the role offers

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with GA APRN license and MSN, or PA program with GA license.
• Maintain ACLS certification and Georgia licensure; demonstrate critical care expertise where needed.
• Experience in ICU/CCU/CVICU settings and collaborative care models.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adults under physician supervision.
• Obtain histories, perform exams, and document findings per hospital requirements.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests;Explain procedures to patients and families.
• Perform approved procedures: arterial/central lines, blood draws, UDS; assist with studies.
• Airway management including intubation, RSI meds, and ACLS as needed.
• Contribute to treatment plans and care coordination with the ICU team.
• Participate in rounds, research, quality improvement, and education.
• Maintain CME hours and state licensure; engage in staff education.
