Job summary

Moffitt is seeking a PRN Critical Care physician to join the Magnolia Hospital team onsite. The role requires MD/DO with Board Certification or eligibility in Critical Care and ACLS certification to lead the multidisciplinary ICU team.

Coverage is on an as-needed basis with adherence to MMG policies and hospital bylaws. The successful candidate will coordinate care across services, perform essential critical care procedures, and deliver high-quality, life-saving interventions for patients with

Qualifications

• Holds primary board certification (or eligibility) by either the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Surgery, or the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has completed an ACGME-approved fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
• Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care.
• ACLS certification required as part of licensure/credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the multidisciplinary critical care team and coordinate care among the primary service and other consultant teams.
• Perform resuscitation in the care of patients with acute cardiac, respiratory, or neurologic emergencies.
• Procedures include intubation, central and arterial line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ultrasonography, and bronchoscopy, among others.
• Provide clinical activity on an as-needed basis in the Moffitt Medical Group and comply with policies and bylaws.

Assess, treats and supports patients with one or more vital organ system failures with the goal of preventing further life threatening deterioration. Procedures that intensivists perform include intubation, difficult airway management, central and arterial line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ultrasonography, and diagnostic/ therapeutic bronchoscopy, among others.
