Job summary

Air Methods CBS in Willcox, AZ seeks an experienced registered nurse to deliver lifesaving critical care during helicopter transport. You’ll assess, triage, and treat patients under Medical Director guidelines and coordinate with flight crew to ensure rapid, safe transfer.

Requirements include a nursing degree, 3+ years critical care, and state licensure; flight experience is a plus. This role requires travel ~5% and a commitment to ongoing education and safety in a dynamic EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last five years or as required by state/local EMS regulations.
• Flight experience is not required but is a plus.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope from initial contact to handoff, with thorough documentation.
• Maintains competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences; tracks licensure and certifications, continuing education, and safety training.
• Demonstrates proficiency with equipment and maintains supplies onboard aircraft for rapid response.
• Attends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings; assists with liftoff checklists and radio/navigation tasks.
• Acts as flight resource for neonatal/pediatric transports when required.
• Participates in follow-up and outreach activities.
• Preceptor role and orientation involvement.
