Job summary

MedStar Health in Olney, MD is seeking a Clinical Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. The 16-bed unit provides close monitoring for complex medical and surgical patients, with collaboration among Hospitalists and Critical Care providers.

Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, developing care plans, delivering interventions, and coordinating with the nursing team to ensure timely care. Current ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL and active MD RN license required; BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year of IMC or related experience.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
