Job summary

West Penn Hospital, part of the Allegheny Health Network, seeks an ICU Float Pool RN to support multiple units with a 16-bed Burn, 14-bed Medical ICU, and 12-bed Surgical ICU. An extra $3.50/hour allowance is provided atop base pay per the West Penn CBA.

Requirements include 2 years ICU acute care experience, PA RN or multi-state eNLC, CPR, ACLS; PALS and NIH Stroke cert preferred. Background checks required. Full-time and part-time roles available.

Qualifications

• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required in ICU.
• Current State of PA RN licensure or eNLC.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• ACLS – American Heart Association.
• PALS – American Heart Association (preferred).
• NIH Stroke certification (preferred).
• Act 34 Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Provide safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally direct and manage the activities of the patient care delivery team members.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
