Job summary

The PCT performs basic nursing tasks, records patient information, assists with activities of daily living and mobility, collects specimens, and may cross-train to unit clerk while complying with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year or more of acute care experience or enrollment in a Nursing Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with patient care under RN supervision.
• Obtains and records patient information (admissions data, vitals, intake/output).
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility (meals, bathing, grooming, elimination, positioning).
• Obtains specimens.
• Cross-trains to unit clerk.
• Follows hospital policies and nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
