Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Float Pool Nurse to provide comprehensive, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill adults, coordinating with care teams to support optimal health outcomes.

You will assess patient needs, develop and evaluate care plans, prioritize tasks, and advocate for patients with a holistic approach while guiding healthcare staff and ensuring ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Associate of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing or foreign equivalent.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona.
• American Heart Association Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Advocate for patient needs with a holistic approach and coordinate care.
• Guide healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (IV pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage devices).
• Initiate emergency support measures (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
