Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Tech to provide bedside care and support under the supervision of the Staff Nurse. Duties include assisting with ADLs, specimen collection, transporting patients, preparing for procedures, and documenting vital signs and observations.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, two years of hospital patient care experience, and current BLS. Certification requirements include PEARS and rhythm interpretation prerequisites, with CPT training to follow.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; state technical college program in patient care assisting or nursing program enrollment
• Two years' experience as a patient care tech or similar in a hospital or equivalent experience in other health care settings
• Current AHA/ARC BLS certification; PEARS or equivalent by hire; rhythm interpretation CLEP/test or course
• Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital services, vital signs, specimen collection, charting and nursing documentation
