Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA, seeks a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant ICU Swing to join the critical care team. You will manage a caseload of critically ill patients in the ICU and provide backup to cardiology and hospitalists when needed, with 24x7 coverage supported by the ICU physicians.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary rounds, protocol development, and family-centered care. Requirements include MA licensure as NP/PA, ACLS, and DEA if prescribing; acute care experience

Qualifications

• MSN and MA state licensure are required for NP track.
• Current MA licensure as NP or PA is mandatory.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start.
• DEA registration is required if prescribing medications.

Responsabilités

• Performs physical exams, orders labs and consultations, diagnoses, and provides direct patient care under supervision.
• Perform procedures including central/arterial lines, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients and families; provide critical care consultations when required.
• Assess status changes, implement interventions, and stabilize patients.
• Collaborate on treatment plans with supervising physicians and document in records.
