Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) to deliver direct patient care in the ICU, with collaboration across Neuro and Medical ICUs in Boston. The role requires near-term coverage across off-hours, weekends, and holidays.

The APP will assess, diagnose, and manage high-acuity patients, guided by clinical guidelines, and contribute to education and quality initiatives within the ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing and APRN board authorization required.
• Nurse Practitioner license and BLS/ACLS required.
• 0–1 years of related work experience.
• MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN; Federal DEA prescriptive authority.”
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provide education to patients and families.
• Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient-centered care; liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services.
• Educates staff and serves as a clinical resource for staff through education, review of literature and seminars.
