Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the GCMG Intensivist Care team in a full-time Critical Care setting. You will perform histories, exams, and daily patient assessments, write prescriptions, and manage treatment plans in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include NP licensure, DEA license eligibility, BLS, and board certification preferences. The role involves on-call and weekend rotations within the cardiothoracic surgery context, located in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board.
• BLS required with expiration date > 90 days.
• Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
• Board certification ACNP/AGACNP/PNP-AC/NNP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations and daily assessments.
• Records findings and plans of care; writes prescriptions and administers medications.
• Orders and interprets lab and imaging studies; determines treatment plans.
• Demonstrates clinical judgment, prioritizes care and communicates with the team.
• Participates in group meetings and policy development as requested.
