Job summary

Brown University Health in Providence, RI, seeks a registered nurse to implement, supervise and evaluate patient care from admission to discharge, with attention to aging and cultural patterns across the life span.

You will provide direct patient care, mentor staff, participate in unit-based quality improvement, and maintain licensure and competencies including BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Rhode Island or under NLC agreement.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Ability to provide care across the life span with aging considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing activities.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient/family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research.
• Maintains clinical competencies including BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
