Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Rhode Island or compact
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure to practice as RN in RI
• Demonstrates knowledge to care for patients across life span

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads through delegation, supervision and participation in safe nursing activities.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community for discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Uses resources to deliver quality, cost-effective care.
• Maintains clinical competencies per credentialing standards and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable.
• Identifies growth needs and engages in educational opportunities.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
