Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year recent critical care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year recent ICU nursing experience or completion of 6 month UC Irvine Medical Center Clinical Nurse I, ICU orientation on this specific ICU.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plan of care.
• Coordinate care between disciplines and support staff.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and readiness for discharge.
• Serve as role model and mentor to students and new staff.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested.
