Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA is seeking a clinical nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and deliver comprehensive patient care, ensuring timely assessment, intervention, and advocacy across the continuum of care.

The role includes serving as a mentor to students and new nurses, acting as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested, and supporting discharge planning with evaluation of outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required for external candidates.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient acute care experience or completion of UC Irvine Medical Center Clinical Nurse I orientation or new graduate RN residency didactic series.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• English language skills required for effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge; revise plan or make referrals as necessary.
• Mentor students and nurses new to the unit; function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervisor/manager.
