Job summary

Northside Hospital seeks a Nurse Educator to coordinate education and training programs, elevating standards of patient care in Atlanta.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Georgia RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Must be certified in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Color acuity may be required in some units.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development and implementation of education and training programs to enhance staff growth and patient care quality.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and leadership role for staff development.
  • Develop and implement training programs, quality improvement activities, and standard of care guidelines.
  • Instruct staff on data collection and analysis to support clinical guidelines.
  • Provide resources to departmental and hospital staff across units.

Coordinates the development and implementation of education and training programs to enhance, promote, and maintain high standards of staff professional growth in providing quality patient care. Serves as a role model of excellence in nursing knowledge and clinical practice. Administers staff development programs through needs assessment and implements education and training programs for clinical staff. Functions in a leadership role as a clinical expert. Develops and implements training and maintains established standards of care through quality improvement activities. Maintains unit-specific quality, accreditation, and clinical competency programs. Responsibilities involve providing staff instruction on the collection of data, assisting with the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, and serving as a resource to departmental and other hospital staff.

REQUIRED:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing or related field
  2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  3. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  4. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  5. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
PREFERRED:
  1. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
