Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital South, Riverview, FL.

You will lead nursing care for ICU patients, using the nursing process and clinical standards while coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities include monitoring patient vitals, delegating tasks, managing care plans, and ensuring smooth discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
