Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in current unit or 4 years’ experience in acute care hospital setting.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed and has knowledge of ordered medications.
• Provides age-appropriate nursing care and basic self-care activities.
• Develops and evaluates teaching plans with family involvement as appropriate.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures requiring technical and manual skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families; coordinates with social services for discharge needs.
• Promotes cost‑effective practices and prudent use of supplies and equipment.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and enhances patient safety.
