HDR is seeking a Security Design Engineer within the Building Engineering Services Group to design telecom and security systems and develop construction documents for client projects in a professional, collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates have a background in electrical engineering, 5+ years in security design, and familiarity with Autodesk tools, with an emphasis on quality and teamwork.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in security design and familiarity with Autodesk.

Responsabilidades

• Represent HDR professionally in client-facing environments.
• Design inside and outside plant conveyances and cabling for telecommunications systems.
• Design fully functioning and coordinated electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Take responsibility for complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of variables.
• Independently perform security system/telecom engineering tasks with guidance from Project Manager.
• Write specifications covering all security system matters and review with owners.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed in telecom and security design.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others when needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. Your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.

Responsibilities

• Professionally represent HDR in client facing environments.
• Design inside and outside plant conveyances and cabling infrastructures for telecommunications systems.
• Design fully functioning and coordinated electronic security systems including but not limited to access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Take responsibility for complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables.
• Independently perform security system/telecom engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected.
• Write specifications covering all security system matters; perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of telecom and security design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT or PE
• RCDD, OSP, DCDC
• PSP

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in security design and familiarity with Autodesk.
• RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) and Electrical Engineering degree helpful.
