Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is a global design leader seeking an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision. You will develop systems designs, conduct site surveys, and prepare client-approved deliverables while coordinating with project teams.

Applicants should have an accredited engineering degree and at least five years in ICT-related roles, with CAD/Bluebeam/Revit proficiency and knowledge of TIA and BICSI standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Understanding of customer owned outside plant pathway design.
• Knowledge of TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
• Background experience and knowledge of Data Center Facilities.
• Knowledge of nomenclature, design techniques, materials, system components, and building codes.
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and regulations.
• Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam, and Revit.
• Communicator who coordinates with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
• Strong organization and time management; punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and punch lists.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s scope of work.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process and QA/QC reviews.
• Participates in the engineering community for professional growth.
• Meets utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Gives input to plans to complete tasks within timeline and budget.
• Creates detailed instructions and delegates tasks for timely execution.
• Identifies roadblocks that may affect scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
