Job summary

DataAnnotation in the United States is seeking a fluent Icelandic speaker to help train AI models. You will test Icelandic outputs, assess grammar and tone, and help raise the quality of new model versions.

This is an independent contractor role with pay per hour on PayPal. You can work from home, choose projects, and set your own schedule, with rates ranging from $25 to $40 per hour.

Applicants based in Iceland are preferred, but fluent Icelandic speakers living elsewhere are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Icelandic.
• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
• Detail-oriented with strong writing skills in both languages.
• A bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) is preferred but not required.

About The Job

We are looking for a fluent Icelandic speaker to help train AI models. You will test how well these models understand and write in Icelandic, check their reasoning, and help raise the quality of each new version.

We're currently expanding into an exciting new area: teaching AI to communicate naturally in Icelandic, with the grammar, tone, and cultural knowledge of a native speaker.

In This Role, You May

• Write prompts in Icelandic on a wide range of everyday and specialized topics
• Review AI responses for grammar, fluency, and natural phrasing
• Check whether answers reflect local culture, customs, and current context accurately
• Compare model responses side by side and choose the stronger one
• Translate between Icelandic and English while preserving meaning and tone
