Position Summary: The Ice Technician Supervisor is responsible for the overall quality, safety, and performance of the ice surface within a professional AHL arena. This position oversees all aspects of ice installation, maintenance, and removal while leading a team of ice technicians to ensure world-class playing conditions for AHL games, practices, special events, and community programming. The Ice Technician Supervisor works closely with the Facilities Manager on hockey operations, event operations, ice plant engineering, and equipment management to maintain the highest standards of ice quality and operational efficiency. Please note that the Toyota Arena employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and a condition of employment is a union membership.
Tasks are performed with moderate supervision without assistance for 40% of the workday; pushing and pulling doors open, lifting, stooping, bending and lifting at least 50 lbs. Walking for long distances for more than 50% of workday. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Employees may be scheduled to work until 12:00am or later. Must be able to pass the background. Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines.
