Job summary

Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, is seeking an Inclusion Support Staff to assist individuals with disabilities in recreational programs. You will support participants, help with adaptations, and promote inclusive activities across programs and events.

The role emphasizes active participation, behavior support, and clear communication with families and staff, with training provided per program standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a desire and interest in working with people with disabilities.
• 18 years of age.
• Skilled Ice Skater.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals with disabilities to be included in general recreational programs with their peers.
• Actively participates in all program activities, assists with adaptation of activities, and helps to facilitate social interactions.
• Advocates for the full inclusion of participants within the program.
• Implements behavior management plans, assists in development of behavior management plans; and provides documentation as required.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors, program staff, and participants’ families while enforcing program rules and adhering to policies, procedures, and Youth Camp Standards.
